MTN bike shoes

Hello, Im a road racer, who recently decided to get into mountain biking. Now, Ive been getting a lot of advice from people regarding bikes, groups, etc. But what I really want to know is whats the best mtn bike shoe, that is, for hitting the trails and/or racing? What do the pros wear? Do you buy them for looks or for functionality? or both? let me know, thanks.

There are some 661 Shoes on the internet if you can find them. I think they are like $59.99 American.

I am getting into biking and starting off with Mountain biking. I am searching for shoes myself. I saw some adidas and few other brands for $50 less and some shimanos for $75.. Look at your local stores for specials.

I strongly suggest you go to your LBS and try several brands how they feel. Then go back home, and read the reviews.
