    trek 3900

    i recently purchased a trek 3900 and didn't custoomize anything
    now that i've used it a lot and i've seen other peoples bikes i've been wondering if i can install disc brakes even though the bikes already been assembled
    if so does anyone know the price?

    p.s. does anyone know how to do a bunnyhop cuz id really like to learn

    I know the 3900 frame and fork are disk brake compatable, but I'm not sure it the wheels are. Look on the non-drive side of your hubs and see if there are some holes with threading in them, if so than you are good to go. If not than you would need to get new disk compatable wheel, in that case it would be better to sell your bike and buy a 4500 disk or something of that nature. Bunnyhopping is hard to teach on mtbs and even harder to explain over the internet. Long story short, lift the front end of your bike, push your weight a little toward the front and tuck your legs into your body. Use trial and error.

    i ran into the same problem earlier in the summer on my trek 4300. I found that it wasn't going to make sense to put dics brakes on that bike. so instead i upraded to a gary fisher tassajara disc. Not a high end bike but better than my 4300. and i'm very pleased with the upgrade: better fork, derailers, and has hydraulic disc brakes. i am glad i upgraded bikes intead of putting disc on my 4300.
