Will my 05 Epic hold up well on single track?

Will my 05 Epic hold up well on single track?
I just bought a specialized Epic. I had been riding an old all rigid bike and wanted something more comfortable to ride on. I like the feel of a hardtail going up hills and did not want too much rear suspension. I tried the stumpjumpers and just liked the way the epic felt much better. I will be doing alot of up and down, rocky and rooty single track as well as on the road with this bike. Since it is primarily a XC bike should I worry about rough single track? I'm sure the bike will be comfortable enough since I have been riding rigid for a long time. The guys at the LBS thought it would be perfect but I'd love to hear your opinions. Thanks!

Agreed. Definately what it was built for. Only time I have heard of any problems, was guys renting them last year and dhilling on them. The seatstay had a habit of breaking on drops and jumps that were cased.

Guess I was still trying to figure out the true difference between all mountain and XC riding even though I have looked through all of the deffinitions. I wanted to make sure I was not using the bike for anything it was not intended for. Obviously raiyn is a little more knowlegeble than everyone else on this forum so this seemingly obvious question must have offended him. So I apologize to raiyn for having him to waste keystrokes to answer my dumb questions.

Look chrali you didn't say you'd be doing 3-4 foot drops which is something that would certainly put you in the all mountain catagory. "Rough singletrack" means a typical XC trail and considering the amount of travel your Epic has you can certainly use it for the task you so vaguely described

To me your answer sounded a bit "twitchy" 
. I certainly apologize for only vaguely describing the use for my bike. Like I said, I guess I still needed to find out what the true difference between XC and all mountain was. The answer you just gave actually helps me out quite a bit. I did not buy my bike to do any big drops. So if thats what people mean by all mountain I should be in good shape. Responses like your first one come across to me as arrogent. If I misinterpreted your first response I apologize.
