Off to the Berryman!!!
Finally, after two years of wanting to ride this trail, we're going.
Leaving in the morning for an all day ride. What could be better?

DG, how was the ride at Berryman? Sounds like a great place. 24 miles of singletrack...that's mountain biking heaven.
Talk about anticipation...I'm headed for Tahoe this weekend. Saturday we are riding Mr. Toads..Oh yeah, it's going to be paradise. Well, the descents anyway, I may be cursing the climbs.
I was up in Downiville this past Saturday. Had a buddy of mine come in from Florida so we took him to do the Downievill downhill. What a great time. 15 miles of descending pleasure.

It was awesome! Usually when you read reviews about how great something is you're disappointed, but this was way better than I expected. Lots of switchbacks, trails curving around the edges of ravines, long, fast downhills. We may go again in two weeks. This trail rocks! I've ridden a lot of trails but nothing comes close to this.
We're planning on a trip in 3 weeks to New Mexico too. Going to ride the Windsor in Sante Fe and then, THE SOUTH BOUNDARY! 20 miles of rockin' downhill into Taos. I can't wait!

DG.....We've lost him guys, he is no longer partially sane, he is totally insane....Crazy about MTBing, never to return the regular, rather ignorant American he once was a few years ago. I wish there was a trail 24 miles long here in SC.

And what's so sad about it is, I'm ecstatically happy about it!!!
I guess insanity has it's upside.

But seriously she doesn't mind my riding. I've lost almost 50 lbs. now so I'm much healthier. It doesn't take away much from family time. I try to schedule my rides around things she wants to do. Like this weekend we're going camping for 4 days. Every year for the last 6 years I've gone bowhunting for bears in Canada and been gone 10 days. I'm not going this year and going to New Mexico instead. And it's only 4 days and costs less than half as much. I honestly believe that some time apart is healthy for a relationship anyway. It's worked for 10 years now anyway!

DG, you and your fellow Missourians need to head south to your friendly neighbor, ARKANSAS! It's tough living next door to the "Show Me" state but we have some great singletrack down here including the Syllamo and the Womble (both considered "epic" rides by the IMBA). So come on down and check it out! We love the 3 "R's" Rocks, Roots and Ridges!
