Nothin' wrong with a good bath, how do you suppose cowboys and other men cleaned up before showers were commonplace? Now if you have candles, bubbles, other smelly things and enya playing- well then maybe we have a situation...
To answer the question more directly: I would wait until you feel comfortable getting in the water and then use a temperature you prefer, if you are hot and sweaty you may prefer a tepid bath over a hot and steamy one, but try it out and see how it works. Everyone is different, so if you cramp up, don't repeat the same mixture. Feels pretty damn good, especially if you have jets in the tub
