Newbie, I need some tips!
Hey all,
Newbie to moutain biking, just bought a 2005 Giant Iguana hardtail. Anyway, just wanted to know how to do some things for urban assault training (like going down staircases, jumps, etc). We are training urban because we live in a flat city but will be doing the Swank 65 in western NC mountains in a month.
What do I need to know how to do before then?? Help in any way is appreciated!!!
Thanks.

Hey Kurt, I'm in Greensboro also.
If you're going to do the Swank in Pisgah, I would suggest holding off on the urban for now (although there's plenty downtown and near UNCG) and hitting up some of our first-rate XC trails: Country Park (make sure to hit the dirt jump park we built last winter while you're there), Owls Roost at Bur-Mil park (voted top 10 municipal mtb trail in the nation by Bicycling a few years back), Bald Eagle trail at Lake Higgins, Reedy Fork trail near Lake Townsend, yada x3.
PM me, I'll show you around sometime. I also noticed you're big into the advocacy thing, and I can get you hooked up with the folks you need to talk to (probably no reason to form *another* group when people have been hard at it for years already).
