What price to sell my bike for?

I have a Gary Fischer Big Sur - purchased around 1998. Ridden about 5 times. Has new tire. Like new.
I have searched the internet but can't find help in setting a price.

Darn good thing you posted here! Those bikes have been deemed a hazard by the EPA and NTSB. But 'll help you out, if you give me 20 bucks to cover my, uhh, disposal costs, I will take it off your hands.

Drat, foiled by my honesty again. According to http://www.mtbr.com/reviews/Bike/product_18154.shtml the bike had a list of around $850. I seriously can't imagine getting more than $300 for it today, but I am not a mountain biker, so hopefully others will give you a better appraisal. It seems to get great reviews.

Best way to do it is to take off 50% for the first year then about 20% off for each additional year.

For example:

Paid $1000.
1 year $1,000 x .50 = $500
2 year $500 x .80 = $400
3 year $400 x .80 = $320
4 year $320 x .80 = $256
5 year $256 x .80 = $205

This should give you a pretty good guestimate.

I always use ebay but I am usually selling pretty expensive bikes. You could always try your local paper first, it's always easier if you don't have to ship.
