MARZOCCHI Jr. T Pro on a p.3
I just got my credit for working at my LBS as a shop rat. Its $570. Im so excited, my first job! Well i was looking at a parktool pro stand, nah i can go to my lbs any time and use all the tools so nah. Im now looking at getting a MARZOCCHI Jr. T but i heard that you shouldn't have a dual crown on a specailized P.3 for some reason (ovalizing the headtube maybe). Im now running a MARZOCCHI z.5 do you know how much that would go for on ebay? Thanks!

Most ht shouldn't run a dual crown. To much pressure and bike won't survive. Heck even most duallies (Giants AC series come to mind) won't warranty a dual crown. It will work but if it brakes, dont expect specialized to fix or replace anything.
Z5 is equiv to a 2002 exr. The exr is worth 200$ cdn new. So I don't imagine the z5 is worth much.

oh nice the LBS guys wouldnt even let my buy a dual crown they sain that the bike wouldn't even be steerable and it would snap off the head tube. Im no longer geting one. im thinking aobut getting a giant DH comp looks better than the bighit comp and only $300 more

First of all, tell them that they ARE WRONG!!!!!!!!! Second.....you know that the 2003 bighit comp is only $1500 retail right?

I would ask about the warranty. If you are concerned with it. I have seen similar bikes with dc. A lot of people out here use that setup on those types of bikes. They work find. They are steerable. They suck uphill but really if you putting a dc on I assume you will be shuttling or doing dirtjumping or something. If you aren't concerned with warranty stick on there and have fun.

That LBS guy was kinda right, kinda wrong... steering really shouldnt be a problem if you setup your bike properly.
As for snapping your headtube, that is quite a possibilty. With the stiffness you get from dual crown forks, natural flex bends the tube away from the rest of the frame. This is not to say that this wont happen on a dual sus. Infact it happend all the time on duals sus. But it happens more easily on hardtails because on a dual sus the rear suspention allows the rear to pivot freely from the frame when force is causing flex into the fork and ultimatly the headtube.
but if your doin dirt jumping or slalom there are plenty of quality single crown forks around. There really isnt any major advantage of a dual drown if thats all your doing.
