I think there's something actually wrong with me.

I'm starting to like climbing on the bike, I found a good seated position on the long grinding climbs, and for short burst kind of climbs, I'm off the saddle. Took the same route as the other day found the climbs enjoyable, even went for an extra loop on the road(thought maybe it would clean the bike off most of the loop was climbing.) The pain was exhilerating.

Pain is where it's at, baby!:D

if you like just climbing, you should find yourself some technical sections and climb them.

fustration comes into play also :)

Its the singlespeed. It is slowly turning you into a complete animal. Be carefull.

As far as pain goes, here is a quote posted often in other forums I don't know if it has been posted in MTB though....

"To be a cyclist is to be a student of pain....at cycling's core lies pain, hard and bitter as the pit inside a juicy peach. It doesn't matter if you're sprinting for an Olympic medal, a town sign, a trailhead, or the rest stop with the homemade brownies. If you never confront pain, you're missing the essence of the sport. Without pain, there's no adversity. Without adversity, no challenge. Without challenge, no improvement. No improvement, no sense of accomplishment and no deep-down joy. Might as well be playing Tiddly-Winks." -- Scott Martin

I know most MTBer's don't consider themselves cyclists, but I do.

Give me a rough, technical, steep downhill, and at the bottom I'll feel like I made it down in part because my cajones were bigger than my common sense.

Give me a rough, technical, steep uphill climb, and at the top I'll feel like I've really accomplished something by using skill, a clean line, and gut-wrenching hard work.

I'll take the latter feeling over the former any day.

I dont get any sense of accomplishment after doing a long har climb anymore, i used to, but it gets boring, i now prefer going down alot more and get a greater sense of accomplishent after a long downhill section.

The rest of us have known for a while that something is wrong with you. At least now you can see it as well :p Gotta love the pain.

All the more reason Downhill magazine needs to come out with Incline.

And I second unsuspended's blaming of the SingleSpeed.
