SPIN wheels and disk brakes?

Are spin wheels compatible with any disc brakes? If they are, what do i need to buy to set it up for disc brakes?

I am not sure what you mean by spin wheels. Cyclocross maybe? You need a proper hub to fit the spin wheels. I would be concerned with the wheel breaking. Most mountain bike wheels are designated disk or non disk compatible. While it is possible to run a non disk rim with disks the chance of breaking increase quite a bit.

Sorry I can't help anymore, hopefully someone else will know more.

Of course they are if they have disc hubs.....and what you'll need to get is the rotor, caliper, hose and lever.

Hi Drub,

I had a set of Spins and they were pretty cool. It's true that Spin have gone bust, but you'll be pleased to know that there are sets still available from Ebay, both disc and v-brake compatible.

Be careful though, as there's no more aftermarket sales, if anything were to gone wroing with them, you have no comeback. If you're getting a pair, check for rim damage and excess wear, and any damage to the thermoplastic spokes.

There's more information at http://www.mtbr.com/reviews/Wheelset...ct_23704.shtml regarding Spin Wheels, but alot of people don't like them. Check out the reviews under spin wheels.

Cheers

Rich
