problem solved
so this whole week i've been dealing with my chain popping, bought a chain and got a tune up done and to no avail. So i figured what the hey. I'll take it into my favorite LBS. They can solve it.
So i took it there, the guy recognized me as the guy that bought them the ratchet. So i showe dhim the problem and he was kind of boggled cause i told him that i found the stiff link in my chain and fixed that, and had it tuned up at the LBS across the street from my work. (Which i'll get to why i'm ultra angry at them in a second.)
Finally we changed the chain (again) better chain which he gave me for 10% above cost, a think it was the SRAM S971 it's a nice chain. still was poppin, so we figured it to be the cassette, so he had a spare used one laying around. We put that on and bada bing problem solved, so i think i'm going to order a new one soon but for now we're goood.
Now why i'm mad at my LBS across the street from my work. I went there to get a tune-up done to my bike, so i took it in and they got to it right away and didn;t charge me, but what erks me is when installed my chain guide i made sure to make sure it was properly positioned and that the chain alignment was right. Getting the chain alignment right resulted in a little bit of a rub but it didn;t hold anythign up so i was gonna live with the noise. so i go to pick it up and he's like, you had a bunch of washers in that chain guide and it was rubbing so i took em out cause it doesn't really matter if you have those or not. So i mumbled something about chain alignment and he was like "OH, no you have nothing to worry about those washers are unnecessary." SO i just kind of said nothing and left and when i got home i put more washers back on it because it was making a godd awful noise on the lower roller and backcranking bunched up the chain and it had a god awful angle in the chain. What a moron, lets just say i'm not gonna go back there, he's a BMXer so i figure his loss.
