Kona Nunu

I am considering buying a Kona Nunu. The 2003 model comes with mechanical disk brakes. The dealer still has a 2002 model with v-Brakes. what would you guys choose V-Brakes or basic mechanical disks. I have never tried disks and do not know what to expect. I cannot try it as they still have not arrived. And what do you think about the bike in general??
Thanks for your help.
David

Hi David and welcome to the forums

a mate of mine had a Kona Nu Nu from 2000, and he loved it to bits, (same frameset as the much loved Cinder Cone).

I can't really speak for mechanical disks as I haven't used them, but if you're more weight concerned, then V brakes would be the lighter option.

If I were you, I'd wait till the new bike comes out, and try them both...you might find out you love disks.

Let us know how you get on

Rich

p.s. whereabouts in Malta are you? My wifes Mum comes from Silema.

There was a lengthy mechanical disk brake discussion in this thread you may want to take a look at.
