Welcome to the Club Mel. I'm also a C-dale rider. It's good to know that there are other cannondale riders in this forum. I tend to take some abuse for my choice of bikes here in San Francisco.

Joe, join the Cannondale club. You won't regret it. What model are you looking at?
Mel,
I ride a Raven 2000sl with Magura disks. I've had the bike for almost two years and I couldn't be happier with it. Here is a simple homepage that I have which shows my bike:
https://members.aol.com/atlcitizen/index.html
Currently I live in San Francisco. There are a lot of trails in the Bay Area, unfortunately because of all the trail conflict here, there isn't as much singletrack as I'd like. Fortunately I can head to the Mountains of N. California for some great riding with scenic views.
What's the riding like in Australia?
Joe

Hey Mel! I ride in the second largest state in the US the first in the continental US, Tx. The little red house button at the bottom of this post box is a link to my homepage. If you click on pics you will see what I ride and what it looks like here where I ride. Under the MTB section here is a section called MTB photos that shows what some of the members here ride.

Steve, Madsnake...are both of you retrogrouches? There is nothing wrong with a little bit of suspension. I went from a Hardtail to a F.S. bike and couldn't be happier.

Hey Mel,
Greetings from the Sunshine State. Oh, I mean relatively flat state. I guess someone needs to start a Cannondale Club or something. I ride a F2000sx. It's the one with the stars and stripes fade, no offense, but I love the paint scheme and I'm a proud American!
Believe it or not there is some great riding in Florida. Of course it consists of old Phosphate mines that have been abandoned for decades and are now all grown over. Pretty technical stuff, steep drops and although the climbs aren't long, they're steep.
Come visit and I'll take you for a ride!!

Hey Madsnake, it's time for some suspension. I think you'll enjoy your ride a lot more.
One good thing about being on a rigid bike is that it teaches you how to be a smooth rider. When you get on a suspension bike you'll have great handling skills.
