As of yesterday, I will no longer talk down about Trek.

Gee, I dont know what this rambling is all about. Almost all major bike frame manufacturers make the frames in Taiwan where there are only THREE major frame manufacturers.
Chances are Kona and Trek frame are pretty much alike.

This is the most intelligent thing I have read in this thread, and not by just a little bit. Thanks, Ricardo.

Throw the stick!!!!
Why can't we all just get along**********
Ride what you like, like what you ride. As long as you enjoy riding your bike who cares what anyone else says or thinks about it?
Heck, look at me, I ride Ellsworths. If I listened to what some people said about them I would have never even considered buying one. If that were the case I would have really missed out on a great bike. Do you think that while I am out on the trail enjoying life I care that some people out there on the internet don't like my bike?

If kona was similar wouldn't they be using 6000 series aluminum as well instead of 7005? And that the non prototype konas are made in vietnam.

The frame is the foundation of a bike not all the add on's. Most people judge a bike by what it has on it from the show room floor and say, well all Trek hardtails are junk because they don't have Fox forks, XT components, Easton bars, BB7 brakes. But when I show up on the trail with mine and it has all the above I bet their attitude and opinion changes..
I have a Chinese bike. It's far better than anything most of you will find in your LBS. You can't judge a bike solely by where the frame was made.

If you hadn't purchased an Ellsworth based upon reading those kinds of horror stories, you certainly could have ended up on any number of other "great bikes," right?

It rides just as good as the Kona.

I built up 2 of the Supergo Access frames. Good value, but an overly stiff and uncomfortable ride.

How many times do I need to say this, there is no need to overreact. The general attitude of this forum needs to change, and it's going to start with the attitude, I'm ticked because of the treatment I've been recieving the past few days, could be out riding but instead I'm here making sure nothing gets out of control.
I'm too peeved now, I'm out of here. Before this carries on still thread closed, and what happened in here stays in here. Period, no ifs ands or buts about it.
I also appologize for any attitude shown on my part and to those who didn't directly have an ill effect here. I won't be around for the next few days. Need to get away from here something awful, if you need to find me(Not likely) I'll be in the woods.
