ideal psi tire pressure for hard rock sport?

I just bought a new specialized hard rock sport 06 model 2 days ago. What is the ideal tire pressure for this bike? Everything is stock, and I weigh 170 lbs.

There isn't an ideal tire pressure. It will depend on the rider, their riding style, the riding conditions, etc. You'll have to try varying pressures. I change mine regularly based on the trails I am riding, weather conditions, etc.

Thanks for the advice. I ride around the city though, mainly on paved roads and sidewalks. What pressure range is best for these conditions with this bike?

If you're mostly on paved stuff, try close to the max recommended tire pressure.

Sidewalks are bad M'kay. You stand a better chance of getting nailed by riding there than if you used your law given rights to the road.
Read this: https://bicyclesafe.com/

Also if you're going to be riding mainly pavement lose the knobbies and get yourself some of these: Specialized Nimbus there are three versions (my link leads to the mid priced version) You'll thank me later
