The most comprehensive source for Chicagoland MTB trails is https://cobamtb.org/.

I work on the Outback Trail in Portage, IN https://www.outbacktrail.org. It is worth the drive.

Check out Palos Forest Preserve in Willow Springs, IL. There's over 50 miles of single-track. The Chicago Area Mountain BikeRs maintain and build the trails. Check out their site at www.cambr.org. I ride out there with a friend usually every week.

There is a trail in Palos Forest Preserve called "Three Ravines." If you go to the link I posted above, hold your cursor over "trail guide," then choose "Illinois," and the "Palos Forest Preserve." There is a map you can download showing all of the trails, both existing and stuff they're working on building.
