They're intended for riding in mud, sand, snow and such. I've ridden one and it doesn't feel much different than any other bike.

Am I just looking at the wrong bike or something? Because to me it just looks like a very normal steel bike with big tires. Don't get me wrong, I definitely like it but the way you guys were talking I was expecting it to be the craziest looking bike I'd ever seen.

It's got some very unusual geometry because of the wheels... it's not symmetrical! Strange-looking to be certain, but it's hard to see a lot of the weirdness unless you see one in person

A friend of mine had one built up by the local shop in Leadville, Colorado. I rode it on the Mineral Belt Trail while there was about 12 inches of fresh snow. You can't notice even the slightest amount of slip because there is none. On the way to the trail and back the snow was hard pack on the road's surface. Same thing.

This guy's rig has the 14 Rohloff Speedhub with the large Marge rims and 4" tires and Jeff Jones bars.

I want one.

You can run the front with a duplicate rear wheel.
