Just got back from doing Baldy (I posted pictures of it in post #211...just imagine it with a few inches of snow)...it was great, so much more fun with a good covering of snow...also makes the descent much more interesting!

I just headed out today with my dog...the initial climbing on the fireroad wasn't too bad, a little slick on top in one or two places and a bunch of downed trees...most of which were easily avoided though a couple did require a dismount. There wasn't any snow on the trail along here but it was on both sides. As you get to the more narrow, steeper, rockier climbing, the trail was covered with snow and it made climbing interesting. Once near the top, the climbing was trickier because of the snow covered off-camber roots/rocks. I'm thinking that when I ride it again with snow cover, platforms may be in order...the snow was so wet and sticky that it was a fight to get into the SPDs.

The descent was a lot of fun with the snow cover...felt just like skiiing down the initial skree part. Further down was fun, just had to go a bit slower and put a little more effort into picking a line...a couple of times a wet, snow covered rock or root would kick the bike away from under you but it was all good. Further along the descent when the trail turns to more loose rock, it was basically clear of snow, just a little moist.

All in all, a great ride...only saw two other groups of hikers...and I didn't even bring my camera along!

went out to hidden valley in riverside yesterday. it was a great workout and the weather was ideal. it was a little sad though, because of all the litter. i think next week my friend bob and i will try to go to sycamore canyon or perris lake.
there are some nice hills in hidden valley, though, and i really started to get a feel for my new bike. i love it. love love it.

Went out today, just a short ride, the tyres I've got are the ones that came with the bike Scott Oxy 2.0, if anyone knows these tyres and with the conditions about to get worse, what would you reccommend, my riding is 60% rough terrain, 40% road

Just got back from a ride around the city. I havent been on my bike in over a month due to work and some health issues, but here are some pics.

Distance: around 15k, need to get a new magnet for my computer that will fit on bladed spokes.

Been slacking on photos lately but I did a ride a few weeks ago early in the morning...was foggy and drizzly but the trail drains really well...was just a little slick on the top layer. We did Sulphur Springs, it's a 12-15km trail that only takes about an hour. It's got some good climbs and a few fast switchback descents.

Only got a couple of pics...

Did a ride yesterday morning that I had been trying to do all summer...it's the Powderface Creek and Prairie Creek loop. Neither me or my riding buddy had done it before but it's definitely on the list for repeats. Some very good and rather steep climbing followed by a lot of descending...it's about a 25km loop and was great...had a variety of terrains plus we got to experience frost, ice, snow, mud, hardpack, loose rocks, and roots...everything you need for a good ride!

I only snapped a few pics...

    Early in the ride:

A bit of the more mellow climbing:

    At our max elevation:

Sorry, none of the steep climbing and no descending pics...

I rode from 2-6 in one of the best areas in Chicago. I Meet the dude who builds huge kickers and table tops. I also rode some narrow singletrack with obstacles. I had a blast. I ended up hitting 5 trees, ditching my bike twice and fliped off the bike for one jump. I can't wait for tomorrow

Yep, a few days worth all mushed together. ADD, and some others. Not sure what may be new since whenever you were there last or not. Good stuff regardless. Time constraints had us miss out on one we were all looking forward to, unfortunately. It'll give me something for the next trip over.

I think we had a ride or two with K not wearing tie-dye, but my perception may have just been altered a bit by all the fumes.

Wow i am very jelous. some of you guys get to ride in the coolest parts of the world. Wisconsin is such a boring place to ride. flat, flat, and flat. And during the fall, winter, and spring it is cold and crapy.
Went for a joy ride monday at our local trails. the leaves where pretty colorful. I need an new place to ride. bad.

Well today I rode the Troy State trails, a relatively flat trail with a couple of worthwhile accents, in Dothan, AL in the pouring rain about 18 miles total and I loved it. The tempreture was about 68 degress with an obvious gloomy solid overcast. The sound of the rain made the ride surreal to say the least, but I really do need to upgrade my Hayes mechs at earliest oppertunity because my levers for the 1st time felt really really cheesy, or like cheese I mean. My new Ritchey ZEDs did a great job sticking to the trail though. I think I'll do more rides in the rain for sure!

Knolly Delirium-T with a coil Lyrik. It's a tank of a frame, but it's built to take some pretty serious abuse, and to last.

I miss riding the east coast, the desert is rocky and in many areas too steep so it's packing time.
    Here's a moderate area I ride.

I'm afraid to take my camera into the rough areas.
