Hey,

If I buy from an online bike shop in Canada, will I get charged customs?

PS: I LIVE in canada.

Also, is bikeroom a reliable store? I've heard ups and downs and maelstrom said he got his stuff, but he had direct contact with David and he was a good friend, so his delivery might have been affected by that?

Does anyone have any good/bad remarks for bikeroom?

Insofar as customs fees are charged to imports and exports, it's highly doubtful you'll have to pay.

you won't get charged any customs or brokerage fees. those are only charged when you order from outside the country. the most you'll have to pay buying from bikeroom is GST (and maybe PST, i forget).

what you thinking of buying?

you shouldn't have to pay PST, since they are shipping out-of-province. I'm interested to hear more stories about Bikeroom. Friends share...

I recently bought a bunch of things from bikeroom, no problems, delivered on time like they said.

I'll be doing buisness with them again.

I ordered from alberta so I didn't have to pay PST, but only because we don't have it. All other provinces will get charged their pst as the company has to record where it's going to, at least that's how it's worked for me in the past in other provinces.

Hope that helps

WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I never said David was a friend. I have had contact with him several times over the past 3 years and consider him a good business contact. I had GREAT experiences up until may of this year. At which point service went to the crapper. BIG TIME. He has redeemed himself greatly and explained the problems and what had happened this spring/summer. I plan to continue buying from him on several conditions.

a) I don't NEED the parts asap. I spend a lot in the winter because he can take him time getting stuff to me. I also tend to stock up so I don't need to order/buy stuff in a rush in the summer.
b) I make sure the stuff is allowed to be sold as online so I can still get a warranty.

I would recommend his service to anyone as long as you understand those rules. Those rules may change with his new supplier. But it will take more than 2 orders to convince me. The price advertised in the shopping cart is what you will pay. If his shipping says 9$ + 150$ for the part then thats the price. There is nothing hidden that I have found. The shipping arrangement for me was simply convenient for both of us being in bc. Puts it on the bus, it arrives 12 hours later.

Cheers

Sorry, I assumed he was since you said he called you back and you seemed to have talked / referred to him whenever you talk of bikeroom on the forums.
