    Lurching

How is lurching done? I think it's where you pull a wheelie, let yourself fall a bit, and slam on the pedals to flick yourself up. Not sure though, does anybody know?

Lurching is basically improper pedalling and rocking back and forth with your pedal strokes. A lot of people lurch on climbs thinking it is making them faster.

But maybe there is another definition that I don't know of?

    Hope this helps!

Hmmm. I just looked it up and what you described is also reffered to as lurching. I've never heard it used in thse terms though...But I've heard it used a couple times to refer to rocking around trying to get more climbing power.

    Interesting

If you have that site why are you asking? It tells you how. I also gave another trials site in another thread that you asked about hopping on rear wheel. It has a VERY detailed trials manual which would be well worth reading through.

In Trials what you are asking about is a gap lurch. So yes ...But in xc racing lurching is as described above. You simply balance on rear wheel, drop the front wheel down a bit and down a very powerful pedal kick while lifting the rear tire AND throwing your body up and forwards. The more power you put into it the further you go.
