Where does your state rank?

Well IMBA released the state rankings again. Where does your state rank?

WV fell to number two this year. Hopefully we can claw our way back up to number one in 2006.

Canada is 2nd to Scotland tied with the U.S.

Quebec, the province I'm from, scored a C-. Yuck!

Scotland sounds like a great place to ride.

Texas: B+
Oklahoma (where I live now) : B+

So neither of them are so bad, and a great set of trails is only 5 miles from me.

B+ overall for UK and B for England, not bad seeing as there seems to be an increasing number of jump areas that are getting closed, ive heard more about Wales being great to ride rather than Scotland, but I've still heard good things.

Kentucky ranks first in ATV deaths (104 over the last two years) and lung cancer due to smoking.

I was surprised to see CA have a B-. I am sure with in the next few years we will be closer to the bottom . There are a lot of us that do our best to keep areas open but we are out numbered and out financed. We could do better except we have a lot of riders here (at least in and around the L.A. area) that are to self-absorbed to give a shyte

We have plenty of trails in Louisiana. They are just up in the northern parts where nobody ever thinks to look. Only a small part of our state (and trails) was damaged in the hurricane, but when people think of Louisiana, they automatically associate it with New Orleans and the destruction brought forth by Katrina. If the "Ranking" people bothered to look at our half of the state, I guarantee we would have been higher. Plenty of people come from a long way just to ride our trails. Just my $.02

WV fell to A- because of the National Forest Service Wilderness area plan proposals - there's an article about it on www.iplayoutside.com, and on the WVMBA web site (www.wvmba.com). The conservationist powers that be (the Highlands Conservancy & such) want to close alot of miles of trails by declaring additional wilderness areas (no vehilces, just horses & guns). WVMBA, however, has publically come out for a plan which restricts some access but allows biking. From what I've heard, the Forest Service favors the same plan.

Whatever the Forest Service decides, though, must be submitted to Congress, who really has the final say about approving plans... so, write your Congressional representatives, and let them know that bike access is important to you!

(CA is having the same issue bandied about, which probably accounts for a portion of thier B-)

22... a bit low for what I had guessed:

North Carolina | B | Raleigh-Durham gains SORBA chapter | Developers threaten urban trails

I suppose the score of our urban areas reduce the score of Western NC.
If the state were split in two, I would suppose Western NC would be in the top 5, at least.
