Carbon risers v's Allu
I am buying a low rise bar to upgrade what came as stock......
I am not overally concerned about finding the lightest one out there, but it seems that carbon bars are now the most common and have the widest selection.
The one I like the look of is the race face next lo rise....
Finally my question is : I have serious doubts how strong and durable a carbon bar can be - I need it for trail riding - I just doubt on rougher trails how well do carbon riser bars stand up ?
I notice even DH carbon bars are available - do DHr's really use carbon bars ?

Throw the stick!!!!
I have been using carbon for around four years and have never snapped one. I did find a small hairline fracture in one a few years ago, that was a manufacturer's defect though. All of the carbon bars I have had have held up very well and they have definately been thru their share of crashes. I couldn't begin to tell you how many times I've watched my bikes go tumbling down the side of a mountain.

Jenson has a Easton Monkeylite riser for $79.00. I wish I had a littler extra cash.

Riles, I've used the Raceface Next Lowriser you mentioned for a few months now. Mostly for XC type riding. No problems so far and looks great as a bonus!
