Just wondering how often everyone gets a chance to ride. Mainly mountain biking but everyone is welcome.
I try to ride every day but usually get in about 5 a week. I'm lucky to have job where I can sneak out sometimes. I'm a technician on call and my boss is 120 miles away. Have some good trails about 15 minutes from my house (Binder Lake) and really good ones about 30 minutes away. (Rock Bridge)
Got lucky yesterday and rode 'em both!
(self portrait of me last night)

I try to ride daily. However there are circumstances here on the ranch in which it is not possible. I am fortunate to have over 5 miles of trail cut here on the property. If I want to be adventurous there are hundred's of miles of dirt roads.

That looks like a self portrait of me every morning!
AAAAhhhhh!! Whew!
I need to visit here more often!
I am almost strictly a transportational cyclist, as I can't get away for any other reason. But it's really cool.
I started at about 5 miles round trip to the bus stop. Then I moved, and went to a bike commute plan of 4 miles in (supplemented by train) and 15 miles home, 4 or 5 days per week.
Finally, I said, "Why not bike all the time?" I started 30 mile round trips. I aimed for 5 day weeks, but after a few months, I burned out. I took 6 weeks off.
Now, I do 30 mile round trips, about 3 days a week, and about 10 miles of walking. And if I want to rest, well, that's what I do! After all, it should be fun!

I usually try to ride about 4 or five times a week. Living in the Bay Area you have many trails to choose from. Since I work in downtown San Francisco I ride in the Headlands often. It's a very beautiful ride in which I get to ride my bike over the Golden Gate bridge. From the top of the Headlands I get a great view of the bridge, Alcatraz, and the city in the background.
When I'm not riding, I'm thinking about riding. My friends say I'm obsessed but personally, I can't think of a better way to relief stress.

I ride daily.. usually around 15-30 miles a day.. I like to relieve my stress that way.. My mom always yells at me for never being home, but when I am home Ijust get pissed off. There are no good trails around my house so I am forced to ride on the City streets here in Minneapolis Minnesota.. it sucks... but hey its still fun

I usually rack up about 10-15 miles a day...most of it commuting. I have a MTB and love to hit the trails, but I just don't have the time. And without a car and the nearest trail being 20 miles away, I have to wait for a weekend (or a generous friend) to get out on the dirt.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was wondering if I was just weird or something. I've ridden for weeks almost daily at the local trails and never seen another biker. It's nice to know others are as addicted as I am!

I ride 4x/week on the trail, 15 - 19 miles per ride. It's 3/4 mile from my backdoor to some of the best trails in my area, so I can put in a lot of riding.
Some people think I'm obssessed, but I always say it's cheaper than therapy!!! My wife likes to call herself the bike widow because of the amount of time I'm on the trail.

It's good to know that there are others out there who are as insane as I am.
How does your Significant Other (S.O.) feel about the time you spend riding? Does your S.O. also ride as much as you do?

I commute as much as I can during the week. Usually about 3-4 days.
On the weekends, I head out to Banff or Kananaskis Country to ride the single track trails and downhills in the Rockies with my buddies.
Banff is just over an hour away, so it's very handy. If there are Black bear or Grizzly warnings, then we tend to stick around to the foothill areas where we still can do single track with some downhill sections.
My S.O. commutes to work, but she doesn't off road at all. She enjoys it when I'm off riding, as it leaves her the house and yard to herself without me around bugging her all the time.

Servus!
I just got RangerGirl into cycling and she is now wanting to ride in the evenings, on the weekends, etc. Admittedly, it's not "hammer kilometers" but it's really good to ride simply for the pure enjoyment. Like BaDgEr's S.O, RangerGirl can sense when I am slacking or need to put some time in the saddle and promptly kickes my a** out of the house and tells me to not come back until I'm tired. Motivating as hell!
Irreplaceable, that woman is!

I live between two rivers, and the closest trails to me follow each river. Unfortunately, these trails are not dry enough to ride until June. If I really need a fix, I can put the mtb in the car and drive 15 miles, but that doesn't happen often. Until then, I am the road master (my wife's new nick name for me).
