4 wheels to choose from, not sure what to get.
As some of you may know, I need to get a rear wheel. I now have 4 wheels to choose from, and I can't decide on which.
Sun Mammoth - 135.99
Sun Single track - 129.99
Sun MTX - 150
Sun S-type - 129.99
The wheel needs to be strong enough to take at least 6 foot drops on my hardtail, and some trialsy stuff. I'm not so sure about the single track for this usage, and I've heard some bad reviews about the Mammoth too. Although, I know that the MTX are really good, but they're a bit more pricey. I don't know anything about S-types(I know that they're OEM rims and are sleeved whereas MTX are welded.) And they have the same shape as the MTX rims. What's the difference between pinned, sleeved and welded? Would the S-type be as good as the MTX? Should I go with one of the others? I can't make up my mind.

i dont like the singletrack...
would you be willing to take any other suggestions?
if not, i would go for the mtx, even tho it is the most expensive.
i dont really have another suggestion, but maybe some other people will...

oh, thats kinda complicated then...
i saw some wheels for like 160 us currency... i'd hate to see how much they cost cdn... like 200?
anyways, ill give a nice look around for some rear wheels and post when i find them.

Of those rims I would take the MTX. They are a bit stronger then the SingleTracks but are not too heavy. Other wise I would go with the ST's. I have been using the SingleTracks for 5yrs now with out any problems. My next bike would have the MTX's on it if I was not going to use Syncros rims.
All of those rims will handle what you want, it is going to come down to is who builds them and how well they build them. What spokes and what guage will you use? What hubs are you going to run? Brass nipples are a must as well as a 3x pattern.

I think I'm going to go with the S types. I'm going to try to work a deal with a friend to get some brakes as well.
