gary fisher tassajara upgrades

I'm looking to upgrade the front fork and brakes on my Tassajara.

I do a lot of cross country, around the river, around the city. I like to jump and go fast, and I go on long treks.

What shock-fork is a nice upgrade to my Rock Shox Pilot XC? I'd like something with a bit more tortional strength, maybe some sort of lockout.

I'd like to get some hydraulic brakes too... easier on the hands. Will the hydraulic lines fit my existing cable routing path built onto the frame?

Thanks.
