Question about disc brakes?

I was wondering, if I bought a set of disc brakes that came with 160mm rotors, would I be able to upgrade to 180mm rotors later on? Or does the mounting hardware and/or calibers have to match to the size of the rotors? Thanks alot!

I think all you'd need is adapters for the calipers but you'll want to check that your frame & fork can take the stress of a larger rotor size.
