I bought a set of Mavic Crossmax SL wheels for a lefty, but they are expensive. I also bought the Maxxis Crossmark LUST tires that are considered a fast rolling light weight UST tire.
You can find a set for about $700 new with UST tires. Check out Ebay, I have seen the crossmax wheels go on sale several times.
Woodman makes a front lefty hub also, if you want to have a wheelset built.

Mavic Crossmax SL Disc lefty eh? Top TOP TOp of the line and the most expensive in Mavic wheelset. You can try eBay. I have a friend that bought a set in new condition for lefty for $695 USD. I know pricepoint have SL but not the lefty version. They are hard to find.

Try:

For Mavic - Crossmax SL Lefty Disc (Pair) (06)Silver :

Thats $899.99 USD + shipping...ouch....a lot of people can get a couple bikes with that price.....

Ha! Funny. Avant is french for "front". xxcycle is based out of France (one of the only suppliers of Zefal spare parts). You were looking at only the front wheel price, hence why it seems so cheap.

Cheers!

that's still cheap for just the front. their atleast $429 everywhere else

How much abuse can the Crossmax SL wheels handle? I have a brand new set, still waiting to complete bike build, and I wanted to set up bike as like as possible. Can these wheels handle 2-3' air jumps and drops? Thanks,

IMHO, they are a very sturdy wheelset. I've run these on my 2003 Blur since new (2003), and I've not had to even true the wheels yet! I'm between 140-150 pounds, but I ride hard, and do drops of that size. However, if you're looking for a lighter wheelset, there are plently of them for sale. The SL isn't the lightest wheelset on the market by FAR. However, they are relatively light, and very strong.

that's good to here. i used every bit of the travel on my first ride with them yesterday.

Kidd - Do you have your lbs contact info. I may order a set from them. Thanks
