Fetish D&S frame???

I searched and found two threads on this bike but niether had any reviews or opinions. I'm looking to build a bike for xc and aggresive trail riding (it's relative)....the D&S frames are going cheap these days and wiegh in at a claimed 3lbs. Does anyone have experience with this frame? It looks like it could be a hell of a HT. I have an '06 reba team and some various xt goodies to dress it up.

Pay no attention to the price. They are going cheap elsewhere.

These should come with free black eye make-up.

i looked into them. they are made in taiwan. this doesn't by any means mean they are bad. i would get one.

think of it this way. one of two things could happen:

1) you could build up a bike that you totally love and you think is awesome and you can tell us all about it and how great fetish is

or

2) the frame cracks on your first ride and you hate the frame and you come and tell all of us how much you hate fetish and how much they suck. then you transfer all your parts to another frame and in the end you do not really lose out on much at all except the price of frame, which isn't much.

i am leaning towards number one as the scenario.

let us know!!!! (Claire and Angelina are waiting too)

Only two threads come up on the d&s. I tried that first....there's not much information on them yet.

I was just thinking that one could assume that the D&S will be of comparable quality as their frames in general.

I've had the discipline which is the cheaper, heavier, ruggeder version.

No issues with quality or construction at all. If the geometry works for you, go for it. It didn't like my short travel XC forks and rutted trails so I'm selling it. But that's not the frame's fault.

I currently have a SAC road frame, and love it. I got a great deal, and it has been serving me well.

The Fetish track frame is a re-branded 'Leader' frame, so I bet this is the same thing... a re-brand of another manufacturer. I think this may be it (sorry no nav but they use framesets), but the derailleur hanger looks a bit different.

Only thing I'd caution you about is the integrated head tube. They limit your fork choice as well as make the frame more vulnerable to 'toss it' damage. Look at Chris King's technical breakdown to see what I mean.

I ride the Discipline frame and really like it, i built it up first as a second bike with a 80mm fork and it didn't ride well at all. I then put a 105 mm fork on it and it completely changed everything about it and now it's a great riding bike that i use as my main bike now.

i also don't think that the D&S is a rebadged leader. For starters Leader only uses double butted tubing while the D&S i s using triple butted columbus tubing. The overall look differs quite a bit too. The roadbikes may be rebadged, but their mountian bikes I think are their own line.
