buying a bike from LBS
hey guys I'm gonna gonna get a new bike this friday and its gonna be my first time buying from a LBS. Do they sell you the one thats on the floor or the one they have in the back ? And if its the one on the floor would you be able to get a lower price compared to the one thats in the back ?

I'm still undecided between the Trek 4300 and Specialized Hardrock Sport

Throw the stick!!!!
I have never heard of a shop giving a discount for the ones that are on the floor unless they are a demo bike or a used bike. Most demo bikes won't be for sale this time of the year, shops typically wait until the end of the season to do that.

Bikes off the floor do not go for cheaper unless it is a Demo/used/old model. If there weren't bikes on the floor to look at, what good would going to a LBS be? Maybe I'll go into my shop tomorrow and just stack boxes on the floor and put all the built bikes in back. That'd be cool eh?

I've got a 4300 that I've pushed way beyond its supposed limits and it takes it without fail.
Occasionally some of the bigger hits (over 5' drops) jump the chain, but that's not a big deal and the bike wasn't designed for the abuse I give it.
No cracks, no bends, only a few scratches.
There's no place on long island that is too rough for your trek; I'm formally from the Port Jeff area, so I speak with experience.
