Deus/Atlas X-Type as double?

I've read the instructions and raceface say its possible, but has anyone ever tried either of these external bearing cranks as a double chainring setup? Apparently, all that is necessary is a removal of the chainline spacers and inner chainring. . . in theory it should work. . . has anyone done it? and if so, could you give pictures? thanx. . .

Depends on what gearing you want. I've got two double setup, both with granny ring/middle ring/bash ring on new race face outboard setups. Didn't mess with my spacers at all, other than initial setup to get my chainline good.

If you want to run a double without a granny, maybe remove a driveside spacer and run it on the non-drive instead. So long as you aren't hitting the driveside chainstay with the crank, and you don't have your pedal right/left spacing too far off it should work fine.

You'll have to at least keep the minimum spacers as per the directions, or the arm/spindle interface won't work properly.
