Hey guys, new here!

Hey everyone, I thought I would say hi and say that I am getting into mountain biking alot. I have a beautiful aluminum Trek 4500 that is a few years old but I think its perfect for my purposes. I have heard that the fork needs upgraded though, which is something I will need to read more on. Anyway, any tips about my bike or anything?
thanks!

Hi, welcome to bikeforums. Hope you enjoy the circus.

As for your fork do you feel that it needs upgraded? If not I wouldn't worry about what anyone else thinks about it, just ride it. If you feel that it starts hindering you then worry about replacing it.
