Shimano Vs ??????

Forgive me if this has been asked before. I have just had to replace my whole drivetrain for the third time in less than three years. Cheap it aint! I have a Marin Mount Vision. I ride a lot but religously clean and maintain all of the bike. Surely the wear of these items is too quick? I used to have a set of Pace chain rings on my old bike which lasted for absolutely years, my wife rides that now and they are still good. What other rings could i try which are compatable with Shimano changers etc. I only want to hear of very durable ones though as i,m fed up spending out often. Your help is appreciated. Bob.

I have used raceface chainrings with lots of success on dh. I also prefer sram cassette.

If you are burning through stuff maybe try to move to the "freeride" category. Little heavier but usually stronger :)

Freeride category? What is that please? Are raceface an American company? thanks for your reply.

raceface is canadian.

Freeride is simply a category dedicated to those of us who like to catch air and go "big"...the parts are stronger than your typical xc parts

I'm using RaceFace rings and love them - they do wear quickly - just about worn through two middle rings in a year though...but the shifting? lovely. The ramps and pins work amazingly well.

i only utilize one ring but it's an FSA downhill ring, the thing is bulletproof
