Best Crankset for the $$$
I just purchased my first bike in 12 years - 2006 Cannondale Rush 600. All seems to be well with the bike, except the FSA crank is apparently junk. I bent the 2nd and 3rd rings within the first 5 casual, urban (no bashing on stuff) rides. I was told that this would be a great place to start for upgrades on my bike. Any suggestions? I've heard mixed reviews about Shimano, and I noticed that FSA makes a pretty sweet carbon set, but I need some opinions.
And yeah, came out of a 12 year retirement. My last bike was a Robinson

If you just bent the rings, why not just replace the rings?
LX Hollowtech II is good bang for the buck. I got mine brand new from Nashabar for $109. That's like two-and-a-half XT's. (though I would prefer the XT) There's only 0.15 lbs difference in weight and the LX is very stiff and sturdy. For the extra $140, you could save more weight elsewhere.

and another for Race Face.
+1 for Deus. I think PricePoint has them relatively inexpensively...~$200ish
Edit: Deus is no longer ~$200
Evolve XC - $140
Evolve DH - $160 (three chainrings)
Evolve DH - $150 (two rings and bashring)
These are all with the integrated (external cup) bottom bracket. The XT 750 does not use an external cup BB.

RaceFace is good...I like it better then XT crank...but someone said high end RaceFace? The high end ones are super expensive...btw..the new RaceFace Rings aren't as good as the old ones.
If you can find cheap XT M750 on the internet, its pretty good.

Evolve is my pick if you go RaceFace, mine is an Evolve DH with an ISIS Evolve DH BB. works marvelously
and if price is no option go RaceFace X-Type
