If it's in good shape, I'd say it's a fair price. Maybe even a bit low? He's your friend so you know how it's been treated and the shape it's in.

They say that frame will take over 10g's to just bend the head tube. 500, I'd pick it up. Used bikes arnt really worth much, unless they just sat around and never got ridden

Bighits are one of the reputable makes on the market. Strong and Solid. They sit tall and tend to be a steep geometry. I recently retired mine, great bike.

That seems like a great deal, as long as it isn't the big hit spec, or whatever the really bottom end single pivot bike was that retailed for around 800 bucks. I'd def. jump on that deal...in fact, what's your friends email address :-P
