Got a feeling people will either hate or love this one. Picked it up from the UK today and gave it a spin around the car park. The Fox Floats need a suitable pump, so they bottom out a bit easy at the moment. I think I will put some 2,3 Continentals on instead of the 2,1's on there at the minute. The non stock items are:

Race Face carbon bar, deus stem and carbon seat post
Hope Mono M4s, added pewter levers, reservoir caps and seals with Goodridge hoses and floating rotors.
Chris King headset and hubs
FSA carbon crank
Double Ti Egg Beaters
Mavic 321 rims
Sram PG990 cassette and X-0 grip shifts/rear mech.
Shimano XTR front mech
Hope spacers
Forgot to mention the Nokon gear cables

Any hints on a suitable pump for the Fox Floats would be much appreciates. I will give it a full review (even though it's not exactly new) when the air is set right.

what a monstrosity, I love it!

Never seen anything like it, component list looks very nice, enjoy!

Sorry, can't help you on the pump, but do give us a review!

I'm a hardtail rider and always will be. Can't beat a hardtail across the sort of riding I do- Mainly long distance XC EXCEPT There are two bikes that work on the trails over here and one is the Whyte 46. The PSRT is from the same stable and no Need to write a review- Once you've got it sorted I can tell you what it will be=--PERFECT. The only other one I saw that works is a Blue thing that passed me 50 miles into yesterdays ride and Couldn't get the name as it was travelling too fast and covered in mud.

Only thing is on the Hope Mono M4's, I use them on the Tandem and they are superb-- But always buy Hope original pads. Have tried non- genuine replacements and they are not as good.

Thanks. My other bike is a 2001 Giant ATX 880 hardtail with very similar drive train and brakes. The difference between them is stark. The Whyte feels like a tank, and the Giant like a missile. The Hopes are set up perfect and they sound even better with the freewheel noise from the Chris King rear hub.

Holy hell, I thought that was a picture of your bike after you tried to drive into your garage with it on your roof rack.

Interesting... uneven four bar linkage up front, but single pivot in the rear. I'm curious how the steer tube is retained down by the lower headset race, and I would definitely be interested in hearing a ride review.

That IS one aggressive looking machine! But, to answer your question, Fox makes shock pumps for thier shocks.

I have to voice my opinion on this one....You were completely right by saying you either love it or hate it...sorry to say I hate it...now I'm saying that it's a bad bike or anything I just can't stand the look. But congrats anyhow. Give us a ride report when you can.

First ride report, since I managed to sort the probelm of inflating the suspension out. The nipples are located very close to the frame, which makes standard hoses impossible to mount. The ride was super smooth with no hint of diving in front braking. I put some Continental Diesels on, so the wheels are a bit beefier, and the rolling resistance is increased. This thing fells like riding a motorbike compared to the Giant, and it makes me want to get riser bars for the HT. Will get some real milage at the weekend and another report.

It wouldn't be the first. Hell, my MTB uses a four-bar front and single-pivot in the rear. The Whyte's design has been successfully used in other applications as well such as the BMW rally bikes that have the Telelever front suspension.
