No, I can't spell


Anyway... I know that the my frame has a 31.8 MM seat tube to mount my front derailler on. I know that the cable comes from the bottom, and that it's bottom swing.. but most of the websites I see only have measurements in inches, not millimeter. I *THINK* 1 1/8th inch = 31.8 MM, but I'm not sure.. and I don't want to risk it. So can anyone help me out here?

Deffinitely was me. I have the shifters and deraillers now, but I don't have the cable housing yet. It's in the mail.. should be here tomorrow actually. This is my first buildup.. so hopefully things will go smoothly. From what I've seen the deraillers and shifters are of top quality. Very slick looking and light as well... I'm pretty damn sure it's gonna be a great derailler. But I probably won't have it all set up for quite a while. All I have built up on the new frame is the handlebars and the disc brakes.. that's it. Tomorrow the wheels and cables come in the mail.. so I'm quickly approaching the beginning of my buildup. Now I just need a good set of bike tools to work with.

Yup! I know the feeling. It starts off with ideas and various bits and the frustration begins when you are short of what you need but it suddenly comes together. Don't skimp on the tools. A good tool is better than two bad ones!

Someone else wrote, if you don't have the time to do it properly first time round, you'll need the time second time round. I digress!

Like you say, SRAM is really great stuff. My lbs has a display stand with the XO components linked together and I like it very much. I'll be transerring my ex-LT/LX components to my wife's bike so she gets a good (though ex-) upgrade as well.

I'd like to know about any problems you experience and anything you learned about fitting/adjusting X.O that is not covered in the instructions. I might pm you for advice later, but I think maybe SRAM is of general interest to the forum anyway.

Yea, I'll keep everyone updated when it's on. Could be a while, though. Since it's my first setup, I'll probably have some problems and questions for everyone anyway

yeah i am also currently working on my moab build. everything is put together but i am missing parts . i got a 9.0 sl rear der but i can't find shifters for it. i've been stuck at this stage for a while i could pick up a new set of shifters for $50 but that's more than what i'm willing to spend. either that or get a set of shimano shifter/der combo.
