    The Maverick tested

Paul Turner's newest creation, the Maverick, was tested by MBA. There is a write up on their web site for anyone interested. It got great reviews, but it's definitely not cheap.

    Here is the link:

    Hey Rich...

It's definitely on the "I wish I could afford it" list. Maybe if I win the lottery. $3900 for the frame shock and fork. This thing would cost over six grand by the time you're done building it up.

Oh well, I'll have to make do with my Raven.

Looks like a really nice bike Joe, but $6000? That just seems absurd for a bike. What makes it so expensive? I just can't imagine it riding that much better than a $2000 bike. (Which you could buy 3 of!)

Is it an optical illusion, or is the seat positioned further back above the pedals?

Whew! I think I'd have to build my own theft-deterrant system--complete with ACME overbearing hammer, for something as expensive as that!

Definitely not in my price range!

Im sure for thoes who can afford it, it is worth every penny at $6000+

I met a doctor down at moab on a Ellsworth Dare, titanium everything, built the bike up with 7" of travel front and rear, and kept it under 25lbs... amazing bike, but at $6200+, out of my range. My guess is that this doctor only road 500 - 1000 miles a year, but im sure he enjoyed every seccond of it.

Other then that, i would love to spend a weekend on this bikem sounds like a great ride, even if it has a flaw or two

Hey Pete, I think it's the curved seat tube that makes it look that way.

Yeah, 6 grand is a lot of money for a bike but if you got it and mt. biking is something you are passionate about then why not.

I don't really know too much about the bike except from the few reviews that I've read, but it's supposed to be a pretty innovative design.

I'm sure that if one of the big bike companies bought the rights to the design, they could build it at a much lower cost.
