Manitou Axel fork problem!

I have a 2005 Manitou Axel fork. I noticed yesterday on my ride when I tried to switch out of lockout, the knob was hard to turn, and no matter where I turned it, it stayed on lockout.

I am not too familiar with how to troubleshoot a fork, and the manuals were a little vauge towards my problem. Anyone have any suggestions??

Yeah, that's a common problem with Manitou forks. I've had that happen twice on my previous Black. Where did you buy the fork from? If it was Nashbar (1-800-NASHBAR) or Performance (1-800-PBS-AIDE), it may be easiest to just return it for a replacement free of charge.

If you do want to mess with it yourself though, remove the large bolt around where the lockout knob is. There should be the lockout coil/device. Fool around with it and rotate it so that it is in its original orientation. This may or may not fix the problem as it could be a number of other things.

It came on my 05 GF Tassajara. I guess I will fool around with it. I rode around with it yesterday like that, and needless to say, my arms and my member aren't feeling too good.

Ok, so I take out the adjustment knob, then the 15/16 bolt off competley (the one with the 2 ball bearings). Then the lockout device is underneath that?
