Downhill Speed Record

I glanced at an Adventure magazine while waiting for a haircut and saw that a stunt man broke his own downhill speed record on a mtb to a speed of 107~ mph! He crashed and broke a bunch of bones in the process.

He currently holds the downhill record on snow also at something like 128 or 138 mph.

Sick.

I saw that, or another article. It was some French guy! I saw the frame by frame of the crash, pretty nastly wipeout!

I know of a frenchman named Christian Taillefer who in 96 set a downhill speed record at 111 mph on a special built Peugot (sp?). I am nt knowing of a faster speed record though.

Too bad you don't have a pic of the bike. The thing is crazy looking. The gear ratio on it was ********.
