hi,
right now I ride an 18 inch diamondback...very old....I am looking at a specialized rockhopper comp disk frame to build a new bike, its 17 inches...will there be a noticeable difference? should I wait for an 18 inch frame?

At 17" bike today is likely closer to a 16" bike in the past. It would feel small compared to your old bike...
