Can i get some tips on building bridges, ramps, and teeter totters? What width do you usually go with? how high do u make your teeter totters? I really want to build a teeter totter im my back yard but i really have no experience and no idea on what to do. Can you help?

Here's a little tip....I built a bunch of stuff behind my house..I had no idea how to do it either. Instead of waisting trees or what ever go to consruction sites and go dumpster diving....man you can't believe the wood they toss out! That way it's free....and if you mess it up, no worries just go get more!ha ha ha (oh and you save a few trees in the process!

As soon as I find some pics of the stuff we had built I'll post em.

On width...go with what ever you feel comfortable with. There's some sections that are as wide a just a thin log and others that were as wide as 1.5 feet(that's where our roller coaster was)

Sorry I can't help you to much with the teeter totter. Just make sure you have one end heavier/longer than the other so it drops back after you ride over it. :beer:

I am surprised I didn't respond earlier but there is so many ways to build this and so many variations on technique. Typical width to start is 8-12 inches or so (Draw yellow lines at the 8 inch point so you know where your skills are). Thats wide enough to cause problems but narrow enough to really develop skills.

The easier ones to build use a bolt on system into the apex (is that the right word). Find an apex you are comfortable with say 18inches high. Chainsaw out a groove wide enough to fit 12 inches of wood and deep enough to make the plank flush with the edges of the apex. Get wood bolts. Drill holes in the apex for the bolts to secure themselves too. Then bolt the plank to the apex. Depending on the length of the plank you have a variable teeter to play on.

Haha I suck. I can't believe I gave directions fort a teeter and not a ladder. That site has a lot of great hints for manmade stuff haha
