High Octane

I have been considering getting a ScottUSA High Octane but since I just built up my Primo it will be a while. At least now there is a company that is importing them to the US. 4k is not a bad price. I have known a few riders that have ridden the bike and they like it. The link below is for the co. that is importing them if you want to check out the line of ScottUSA bikes.
I always found it funny that a manufacturer with the name ScottUSA stopped selling in the US.

I remember seeing the reviews for that bike. Pretty sweet to look at, at the very least

Funny how it has to be imported to USA when it says ScottUSA

dirtbikedude- I think you are as bad as me, about the time I get one rolling I'm thinking what the next one will be hehe. I read an article on the Nicolai, sweet... short wheelbase, more sus travel than you really need... Maybe next year after a few hundred more hours of overtime.

That thing just looks fun. I did go ahead and order a two ring crankset for the Bullit, I really don't think I will ever need the 3rd 44 tooth that I have now. At first I thought I might be able to cripple in on the tail end of the pack on a XC race, but nope, don't think so with this heavy brute. My son and I are planning on racing an XC series this year in AR. But now they are starting to have a DH race on the same day at several of these races, so I think I will let him go XC in the junior class on the 23 lb bike while I beat myself up on the dh race. Should be fun but lots of traveling and camping (ugh)...

One more thing. I went clipless up until now. You guys who run clipless on DH are better men than me. Along with the crankset I'm getting a shiny new pair of platforms

I run clipless on my fr bike and platforms on my dh. Most guys I know do it the other way around but I only like them on the fr bike because they allow me to climb better.

Which cranks did you get?
Did you check out the Dewlie from Black Spire or the Evil?

As soon as I can scrape up enough cha-ching, I'm ditching my big ring and getting an Evil!

If you guys are looking for some indestructible cranks get a pair of these from Profile Racing:

Platforms- I asked the BMX'ing kid and got some Zulu something or others... I'm not sure which one but he told me they were good and had sealed bearings. It's pretty bad when your son has to spec your bike for you .

I bought them from pricepoint, they arrived today. The UPS dude must think I'm buying out a bike shop LOL. I also got some Raceface 2 ring cranks with a bashguard, and I've been out in the shop all evening beating on these things with a BFH trying to get everything on it. I'm a pretty fair mechanic on all days except for friday evenings

I'll probably be posting a new thread asking where to get the ISIS drive washers in a little while hehehe.
