New Bike, "The Campus Cruizer"

well its done nothing special just gonna be a fun little ride to get me from class to class next year.
STATS:
frame- trek bruiser 2
fork- sherman 6" w/ 22mm through axle
wheels- Fatboy bombshell w/ maxxis hookworms
cranks- raceface dh
rear deraliuer- XT 9spd
shifter- XT 9spd

anything else just ask, like I said its nothing special.

Nice setup. You've got some nice DH equipement, so all I can say is thank god it's not FS.

I mean wouldn't a commuter type setup work better?

Unless you've got some nice urban jumps or stair gaps, in which case have at!

EDIT: And just my curiosity, what brakes?

That is a great bike lol and would make for a fine downhill\freeride hardtail with some new tires, dont you think its a little overkill for a campus commuter though

oh ya it will be a blast, the brakes are hayes mx1's cuz they were cheap, it has dh componets because i took them off my v-10 since i do not need a dh bike at college.

Excellent advice. My son won't be taking his hardtail Trek to school. First, the elements will take their toll on the bike, second theft of anything with a nice suspension fork. Instead he's taking an old Trek 800 with all the QRs removed.

PS: That is one really nice ride you've got there.

thanks guys, its really nothing special most of the componets are cheap, but it will be fun to cruz around on. also i am keeping the v-10 but might be selling it in the near future so i can buy a new video camera.

Awesome bike! Riding to class is probably a motivation for you everyday to wake up. I too would commute on bike but scare that thieves are gonna strip my bike clean. A set of QS lock (front, back, collar) is about $54 at a local bike shop. So.. yea...
