protecting disc brakes
Hi all,
I'm in the process of packing my bike in a hard travel case for shipment via air to Colorado. I've just removed the wheels. Is there some way to make sure the brakes arn't accidently squeezed, causing problems? Is there something around my home I can stick in between the pads?
Thanks.

Throw the stick!!!!
You could put a few cards (like playing cards) in between the pads. Just something simple like that. If they do get squeezed just pry the pads apart when you put the bike back together.

oh and carry a 8" adjustable wrench, in case the rotors get warped for whatever reason...that way you can use the wrench to straighten them back out again.
