Good news.

My bike shop got worried today, because it's been forever since we made the claim for warrentee on my bruiser frame. So they called Trek. Trek said that they didn't have any bruiser frames on hand, so they were going to MAKE one there, IN THE US! So, I'm getting a US made frame, and my original was made it China. This is one of a kind!

I should have my frame in 2 weeks.

Retail shop translation - either someone forgot to put in the claim or something is backed up so the bike shop told you that so you wouldn't care about waiting longer.

Why? I like bruisers.

I'm going to get a job and buy as many bikes as I can. Get a taste of everything.

I'm next is rather a trials bike or a 24" bmx.

The claim was done right away.

I called a few times to checkup on it, they said trek hadn't gotten back to them yet.

I'd believe them, because it's been over a year since Trek stopped making bruisers.

...And that is so SWEET that Trek is custom-making you one. This thread will definitely get referenced next time the crap-talking starts about Trek's warranty/customer-service.

(Side note: Anyone notice the guy on the Bruiser in ROAM during the dj section?)

WOW! That's is sooo cool! Specially made just for you. I bet you feel like Lance Armstrong right now! But I thought they discountiued the Bruiser line already? If that's the case... it's probably gonna be handmade?! IN THE USA! If I were you, I would be so happy that I wouldn't be able to sleep till the bike gets delivered.

Man, that's awesome. I would have thought they'd have just thrown a Jack frame your way and wiped their hands. Thats really cool if they're really going to be making one for you in the USA.

aND props, and +2, I'd never trade my Bruiser.

Correct Retail shop translation - There's going to be a Bruiser or something like it in the 2007 line and you are going to receive one from the first production run. Maybe it will even have an old Bruiser decal on it.

They're making Jack's again in 07 I believe.

I wouldn't want one though. I like the bruisers more.

That's a great thing

You need to remember something though, the Chinese plants where they make these things, is like a photocopy shop, they are great at taking an item, and making thousands of copies, sticking them in a container, and sending it on a slow boat . However to build a one off, then ship it air freight, would be very, very expensive (shipping would cost more then the frame). It's cheaper for a guy in the US to take the appropriate lengths of similar tubing and weld it together, using similar or better tubing. Then of course it gets painted and decaled, and sent ground shipping to your LBS with the other stuff they are shipping there .

Not really. I love the geometry of the bruisers and how they ride. I think it was a defective chinese made frame, that's all. I think this one will be better, but if I break it, I'll get a new one from warrentee .

Sooner or later I'll have a trials bike too.

It'll be interesting to see if you break this one as well, given that its made in the USA. Will start a whole "USA frames are better/worse/the same discussion"....and will prove that the bruisers just aren't as tough as thier name suggests.

I hope you dont break it btw

I think if they send me a Jack frame for whatever reason, I'll make it into a trials bike.

I think there's about a 5% chance of that ever happening.

I doubt I break this bruiser frame anytime soon.
