what are V-brake style levers ?
An email response i got from Avid regarding thier mechanical discs saId i would need to get V-brake levers. What is the difference between these and any other levers? Maybe my 2003 stumpjumper already has em, but i dunno.
I read something about this elsewhere concerning V-brake levers and Avid discs, but it said they were NOT necassary, only recomended because it's better. What to believe !? The thing is, if i have to buy levers too, i'll just pass on the brakes.

You just bought your Specialized right? If so, you've got the correct levers! The non-vee are cantilever levers, and the throw (lever action) is different. Vee brakes require more cable to be pulled by the lever, and canti levers won't work.
The Avid's are great mechanical discs, better than cheaper hydraulic ones. Setting them up is easy and adjusting is no more than regular vee brakes!
