creaking stearer?

well, i was just having a look at my forks but taking the stem and wheel off to check the actually lenght on the stearer tube then put it back together and realised when i turn the handlebars it creakes not sure what it actually is. any help guys?

Too tight possibly. Not tight enough, possibly. Needs new grease and possible repack of the bearings

You may also try oiling where the cable housings meet the frame stops.

i did think it was the cable housing rubbin on the frame at first, but come to descover that its probably not. need to have a good look at it.
