August 6 - OC/CA - slow paced Fremont Canyon ride

I'm posting this here to see if anyone would be interested. I am a docent for the Nature COnservancy/Irvine Ranch Land Reserve. I help lead rides on private reserve land. Fremont Canyon just recently suffered through the Sierra Peak fire but it's coming back. Generally the TNC offers this ride as very extreme/most strenuos so access is limited. On August 6, a ride is being offered for those of you who like to ride, have some skills, but may have to walk or go slow particularly up long epic climbs. This is not a Loop ride but will go out to the remaining Tecate Cypress stand and back. Distance about 10 miles. maybe 1500 ' of climbing, most right in the beginning. It is slated as a very slow, OK to walk, take your time ride. It's not for a beginner but is OK for old, slow folks like me with some skill. If you want more information let me know and for details on this or other TNC/IRLR rides go to: ocwild.org, The Nature Conservancy, Let's Go Outside.

I want to go, but getting there is a bit problematic. Shucks, maybe next time!

I guess I should make this clear - the ride is in So California, Orange County, Orange Hills area. Fremont Canyon is off the back side of Irvine Park, pass the toll road. Since we have plenty of docents this ride will basically be public access in that you can enter and ride with a docent you matches your own pace. Stay and linger, or go fast and get out. But come and enjoy.
