MTB on TV
How come I can't find any MTB events on any national TV station anywhere? Am I missing something? If it's just not being shown, has anyone attempted to petition to show ESPN / OLN / etc. that there is an interest in having it on TV?

I saw it on TV yesterday. It was on the Xtreme channel. They were showing how the sport evolve from like 97 to the present day. Mostly racing and racers though.

Its really not shown that much. We see a bit up here on oln and sportsnet...but beyond tidbits...it isn't tv worthy.
And to behonest, downhill on tv is dull. Unless it is filmed with the specific intention to show speed and steep then downhill looks almost easy. I am rarely impressed by downhill footage

I've actually noticed how mountain biking has gotten further and further away from the mainstream as of late. Back before I was riding ATBs, and going back for a decade it seems, I couldn't go into a market or sundry store to pick up a hunting/fishing mag without filtering thru a half-dozen MTB magazines. Now I have to stop and 3 differant stores just to find one mag.

There will be crankworx footage in nwd7 I would assume since the crew was there.
Crankworx is televised, put into a 1 hour show that will be on tv later. This year there was lots of cameras so I assume it will be even better than the 2005 "tv" show.

4x on Jeep hour ...
I've seen Mountain Cross on NBC. Occasionally you get some of that on OLN.
In my opinion, the only effective way to cover these events would be to make the participants wireless camera. Just like the auto races, the first person view is what really "puts you in the action" and makes things interesting.
