Ever ask if biking is really worth it???
This sucks!! After two full weeks in the hospital from a lassurated spleen, I am free! All because of a little slip on the ride home from a great dirtjumping session. I am now done for the season and have no idea how I will survive with out my bike. The doc said if it is hit again it would must likely be fatal
! The worst part is that I feel fine now so it is sooo tempting to go biking. Well any way thats my story, and wish me luck.

I agree that the hobby does demand a lot from me...

Sorry to hear that! It always seems to be easier things that do the most damage. Hope you recover fully as soon as is possible.

There may come a day when you're really old and you'll say "I'm glad I took the rest of the season off back in 2006 so I could recover...who knows what may have happened if I hadn't". You will of course be saying that to your grandkids while you tell them stories about how you used to do Superman Seat Grabs at the park...they will most likely be more important to you than any biking you ever did. Don't miss out man, there's always next year.

I'm 41yrs old and look like those guys in the bowflex commercials; I eat mostly healthy foods but because I like them; when I want to splurge, I do, when I play I play hard and ride even harder.
I've suffered many injuries and a few put me in the hospital for months; I healed and so will you.
Life should always be an adventure; I'd hate to make it to 100 and not have any memories worth sharing.
Get well, the track/trail will still be there.

What I was trying to express is that if an average guy like me, who's no pro athlete and has to work for a living can keep going through numerous injuries, so can he; I look to many that have come before me and hope to set an example for many to come.
This is a life lesson not just biking; any serious injury can make someone rethink their actions and if they don't push through it, they may shy away.
Have you heard of that old adage, "Jump right back on the horse that's thrown you"?

Sorry to hear about your accident man....just rest....heal up and before you know it you'll be back in the saddle again.
